BIO
Hello, my name is Craig Boyse, I am the owner and operator of Enamel Empire. This enterprise started in 2020 as a result of the pandemic. I had always worked in art and had spent a lot of time developing my style working for the grocery store chain Trader Joes.
The pandemic gave me time to reflect on what I wanted this hobby to turn into and I knew I wanted to connect with people one on one though art. I attended my first convention in October of 2021 and never looked back!
This has been an amazing way to meet other creative types and share our love of pop culture and design. I would love to hear from you if you are looking to have something special made.
ARTISTIC HISTORY
A Brief History
THE BEGINNING
2020
The pandemic allowed me to reevaluate how I spent my time. I had always been making art but it was always making what other people wanted. I wanted to start making things that I was a fan of and allowed me to connect with other likeminded fans. I made my first merchandise available to buy in August of 2020.
MY FIRST CONVENTION
2021
After finding success on Etsy I decided to attend my first convention in October of 2021, it was interesting to say the least. The pandemic was still in full swing and that affected how we interacted as well as attendance but it was still a wonderful experience.
EXPANDING THE BUSINESS
2022
This was the year I decided to really branch out and go to multiple conventions. I was in artist alley at Indiana Comic Con, Wizard Wold Chicago, Fan Expo Boston as well as making merchandise for Celebration Anaheim, and running multiple shows on PopShop Live. It has been amazing connecting with the fans at each show.
2023
I attended even more conventions this year including the largest show, C2E2. I organized a PopShopLive event around SDCC. And I branched out my fandom to attend LeakyCon in Chicago and ICCCon in Tennessee.
